Friday Flight Jamboree: Party in the Skies

Jambojet partnered with Capital FM partner to host a first-of-its-kind flight dubbed Friday Flight Jamboree. The flight was part of the airline’s celebrations marking hitting the 5 million passengers mark just 8 years after its inception. The Friday Flight Jamboree showed the opportunity for such partnerships in the industry. Unlike previous mergers, the unlikely alliance brought the magic of radio, music, and travel to the skies.

Jambojet is not new to strategic partnerships. The latest of them, however, The Friday Flight Jamboree, sent tongues wagging. The Jamboree plan included a 24-hour itinerary with a live Deejay on location, a Jamboree party 30,000 feet in the sky, and a Mombasa City Tour and Capital FM live deejay Take over. Talk about a packed 24 hours! What’s more, you could get a return ticket for just Ksh 5000! Now that’s value for your money. But… you don’t have to imagine it all. I had the pleasure of joining the crew aboard flight 984 and had the time of my life! If you missed this magical flight, let me break it down for you.

Capital in the Morning

I woke up excited about the day’s plan but anxious nonetheless. Knowing Jambojet I was ready for a good time! As expected it outdid itself. The first pleasant surprise was finding Deejay Adrian at the Lounge. As promised Capital FM known for its unique programming and exceptional blend of music brought its popular morning show to the JKIA. Jambojet knows Capital in the Morning is “the only way to start your day” so it brought the party to the location! Guests arrived at the Jambojet lounge to the sounds of the morning show with Deejay Adrian on location already promising a good time. Now that’s waiting time we can’t argue about! And who says you have to give up your favorite morning show to catch a flight?

Flag off and Boarding

It would be safe to say that the party had already taken up the shape on the ground but the time had come to take to the skies and no we were not cutting the party short. After all, it was Friday and the weekend was calling. You guessed right the party was just starting and we were not about to leave it behind. But before hitting the runway we flagged off the inaugural Friday Flight Jamboree flight and boarded. Usually, this is the point you count the hours and dread the flight time. Lucky for us the air hostesses were not the only ones walking the aisles on the Friday Flight Jamboree.

Friday Flight Jamboree Party

You guessed it! Our resident Deejay Adrian was on location serving up impeccable vibes 30,000 feet in the skies. From the oldies to the new school he brought the perfect entertainment set for the over 70 passengers. The passengers on board brought all the right vibes. You can be sure we did not bring the flight done but we sure did throw down a party! Heads were nodded, bodies were swung and songs were sung!

Party Bus Mombasa Mini City Tour

On arrival at the Coastal city of Mombasa, the passengers were treated to a mini city tour. They were ushered into the open party tour bus that would take them sightseeing across the city’s famed spots. That’s the convenience of Jambojet. With its affordable flights, you too can fly and discover Kenya all within hours. After an hour of effortless sightseeing and the travelers already feeling the coastal vibe, it was time for lunch.

Lunch at Sarova Whitesands

The day’s energy was calling for replenishment so we headed to the Sarova Whitesands. Nothing but the best and we were here for it! True to its character the Sarova Whitesands beach resort matched the standard of customer experience, ambiance, and great food. Guests were treated to delicious cocktails and fresh seafood complimented by the rich architecture and furniture. With the perfect backdrop and good food, conversation flowed freely as passengers got to interact and enjoy the coastal vibe.

Capital Fm Takeover at Tapas Cielo.

By 6,00pm, the Capital Takeover, the last item on the Friday Flight Jamboree itinerary was just beginning at Tapas Cielo. Deejay Adrian and DJ Stretch took over the decks for a night of endless music. The party was at its peak and Tapas Cielo a famous luxury bar and restaurant in Nyali was setting the scene for a night to remember. The night’s captains were ready and the decks were prepped for a takeover! Guests partied way into the night, enjoying the flow of drinks, food, and entertainment. So in case, you were wondering what you can do in a 24-hour time span there you have it! Friday Flight Jamboree has set the standard by taking the party to the skies. And if that wasn’t enough it added in sightseeing, dining, and accommodation options.

The airline has had a flourishing growth spurt since launching in the Kenyan market 8 years ago. The Kenyan-borne airline prides itself in providing low-cost flights affordable to most passengers. Its ambitious goal of revolutionizing air travel regionally has picked up speed launching it to new heights. The airline that operates from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Kenya’s largest airport has won the hearts of many and is claiming its space regionally.

Previously, Jambojet has also partnered with Magical Kenya. The collaboration saw passengers enjoy flights to select regions in Kenya and enjoy discounted accommodation in select hotels. This partnership has boosted local tourism within the country by facilitating seamless and affordable packages for tourists. In the same vein, the airline grew its wings to boost its fleet expanding to regions of Goma, DRC. Locally the airline offers flights to Mombasa, Malindi, Diani, Lamu, Kisumu, and Eldoret.
